First Citizens Arenas on community composting
The first Citizens Arenas on WP3 community composting took place the past 14th of June at UAB, gathering more than 100 people among pupils and teachers from the elementary school Escola de Bellaterra, researchers from the Department of Chemical, Biological and Environmental Engineering at UAB and local authorities from the public administration such as the Catalan Waste Agency, to share different real experiences on organic waste management around the Catalan territory, specially focused on community composting initiatives, based on what the Escola de Bellaterra pupils have been working on during this academic course.
The session was divided in two main blocks, being the first one the presentation of the different community composting experiences from different perspectives -from rookie kids to experienced researchers-, and the second one a discussion workshop in small groups to talk about the benefits and improvements that this kind of waste management alternative brings.
